Alice's Wonderland Macarons: It's Always Tea Time!

Lemon macarons made by Alice

When I was a little kid and sitting in the back seat of the car without a seat belt, I remember my mom stopping at a road side lemon-aid stand and saying "c'mon, let's stop for a thirst-quenching lemon aid." I was awkward and shy about the whole thing but that quickly passed. It was a happy moment for my mother and me.  She later explained to me that it's important to support any kid who has the initiative to set up a lemon-aid stand and she was right.

Alice's Wonderland Macarons is a modern, on-line version of a 1970's road side lemon-aid stand and just as authentic. If creating beautiful and delicious things is part of being French, then Alice has got this genetic sequence deeply embedded in her DNA. Alice is a motivated and talented teenager who makes macarons from her home in Washington, D.C. While she's at it, she's saving up for college, too, because Alice doesn't take her education for granted and she seriously loves learning. Unlike Lewis Carroll's Alice, this Alice knows where she's headed.

Macarons are as trendy as they are delicate and light. They've been called "the new cup cake" and Alice's Wonderland Macarons is gearing up for a busy holiday season. These colorful treats would be perfectly popped under any tree, as a hostess gift, a stocking-stuffer, and as a complement to any holiday cup of tea or coffee. Go on, get those bone china cups out and tuck a pretty macaron in the saucer. It's time for tea "'Yes, that's it!' said the Hatter with a sigh 'it's always tea time'."
